Physician assistant studies faculty represent CSM at Nebraska Academy of Physician Assistants Gala
糖心Vlog, Neb. 鈥� 糖心Vlog (CSM) physician assistant studies faculty recently attended the (NAPA) Gala.听
The event celebrated the physician assistant profession and the organization鈥檚 50th anniversary. All proceeds funded the NAPA scholarship fund.听
鈥淔aculty who are engaged in NAPA demonstrate to students the importance of advocacy, leadership and professional service beyond the classroom,鈥� said Risa Zimmerman, physician assistant studies assistant professor and NAPA president. 鈥淪tudents learn by example that being a PA is more than just practicing medicine, it includes advancing the profession, networking and shaping healthcare policy.鈥澨�
NAPA serves as a voice for physician assistants, advocating at the Nebraska听Legislature, supporting physician assistant education, building leadership opportunities and strengthening the profession for the future.听
鈥淲hen faculty are present and active in NAPA, the CSM PA program is represented in statewide conversations,鈥� Zimmerman said. 鈥淭his visibility enhances the program鈥檚 reputation, demonstrates commitment to the profession and attracts potential students, preceptors and collaborators.鈥澨�
Jessica Jones, director of didactic education and physician assistant studies assistant professor, is the NAPA house of delegates representative and chair of the diversity committee.听
颁厂惭鈥檚 Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program听is 24 months and provides the rigorous education and professional development necessary to become a competent, compassionate healthcare provider. 听
